My great grandmother, once removed, was Elizabeth Dancer nee Eldridge (1809-64) and this is an attempt to trace her ancestors in Monks’ Risborough, Buckinghamshire, from the mid seventeenth century.
Many men with the surname Eldridge or Aldridge in mid Buckinghamshire during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries appear to have been blacksmiths.
